 Schwartz Creek Cabins

The Schwartz Creek Cabins are located along Schwartz Creek, approximately 2 miles off Medicine Lodge Road.  They are truely a mountain homestead.  This particular rental cabin is as rustic camping as it gets!  There is a cook cabin with Monarch wood stove (wood provided), table and chairs, some furnished cooking essentials and a grand view.  The sleep cabin has wood bunkbeds built into the wall.  There are three sets ( six single beds ), you want to bring a sleep pad for these bunks. It has a small couch, card table and chairs, carpet, and a wood stove.  These two cabins are rustic, no electricity and no running water other than the creek outside your door.  The out house is located just a short distance behind the two cabins.  Bring your horses and explore the vast mountain setting that surrounds you, corrals available at the cabins.  You don't have to worry about people, because you are the only ones there!  This is your mountain get away. Very Rustic!

The Sheep Creek cabin is located approximately 20 miles south of the Hansen livestock headquarters on Medicine Lodge road.  This mountain cabin is a perfect family vacation opportunity.   We are not sure when this cabin was built, it had to be the very early 1900's or before.  The Hansen family had used this cabin in the 1920's and beyond for tending camps of the mountain sheep herders and their bands.  Supplies had to be taken by pack strings to the herders spread through out the Sheep Creek country.  The old stage coach and freight road between Corrine, Utah and Bannack, MT ran near the cabin back in the 1800's.  The Sheep Creek valley has got some history for sure.

Sheep Creek Headquarters Cabin

We would like to share that history with you!  The cabin has two levels.  The upstairs is carpeted and has four beds and extra cots if needed, sitting areas,  table and chairs.  The downstairs has three bedrooms, one queen, two doubles, and one set of single bunk beds.  You have a great room for food and supply storage off the kitchen dining area and it stays quite cool in there.  There is a Monarch wood cook stove and a smaller wood stove in the kitchen and dining area.  You have a living room area with couch, chairs and wood stove.  The cabin does have electricity from a generator that is provided.  The kitchen is furnished with cast iron pans, coffee pot, microwave, toaster and most of your cooking utensil needs.  The cabin stays very warm on cold nights and is insulated very well.  There is a fresh water spring head in front of the cabin.  You can use the water for hot drinks and cooking.  Bring your cold drinking water.  There is a carpeted double seater out house for your outdoor needs.  The cabin is a wonderful family cabin with plenty of room for large groups.  We have had up to fifteen people stay and be comfortable.  I can't say enough about this great get away cabin.  You've got solitude and peace of mind out your front door.  Sit at the picnic table and RELAX for a bit!
